Customizing ActiveSync Settings (Smartphone 2002 & 2003)

When you first synchronize your Smartphone with ActiveSync, you can select what options you want synchronized. Later, you can add or remove options by clicking on the ActiveSync icon on your task bar and selecting Tools, then Options. You will be presented with the ActiveSync Options. This is where you select which options you want synchronized with your Smartphone.
You can further customize these settings by selecting Tasks and clicking on the Settings button. You will be presented with the parameters for synchronizing.

The tasks synchronization options will allow you to:
  • Synchronize all tasks (all tasks on your desktop PC will be synced with your Smartphone)
  • Synchronize only incomplete tasks (once tasks are completed on the Smartphone or desktop PC, they are removed from the Smartphone)
  • Synchronize only active tasks for a certain period of time
  • Synchronize tasks only in specific categories

Notes:

  • Some properties supported in Outlook may not be synchronized on the Smartphone
  • A task request that has been deleted on your Smartphone and then synchronized with your desktop computer will not cause Outlook to send a cancellation notice.
  • A conflict could occur because an task has been changed on both your mobile device and your desktop computer.
